Hello from the Pacific Northwest!

General announcement- we've decided to keep this as our travel blog rather than starting a new one for each trip.  Each place will be tagged at the end of the post.

Whew.

Okay, we're in Spokane, WA for a week to attend a wedding and enjoy the sights!  The flight out here was pretty uneventful, other than United Airlines really weird safety video.

Your flight attendants have cracked and think they are working all.the.time.  Got it.

We're doing a few things that we don't usually do, namely renting a car and using AirBnB

After the Hawaii incident where we rented a car that we hardly drove then paid an insane amount of money to park the car that we hardly drove, we rarely rent cars anymore.  (It literally would have been cheaper to rent a limo to take us around to the places we drove in Hawaii. Just...don't.)  However, we decided to rent one here and it's gone much better.

Fun Fact: One way to really annoy Cathy is to spend ten minutes trying to upsell her at a car rental counter at midnight.  No, I really don't need a Camero, rental car company.

I did not take the upgrade, and we ended up with this totally sweet ride:

We're calling it the Mini Banana Mobile.

It was really late when we got in, and I was a little nervous about the whole AirBnB aspect.  I really did not need to worry.  Our host had left keys for us in a locked keybox and had left excellent directions for us.  Not having to interact with people when we were exhausted was a really excellent perk!
We passed out shortly after we arrived.  Nice place!

I made this exciting video tour!

The next day was pretty laid back.  We slept in, and we ate at a nearby pub that had gotten good reviews.  We would go back to The Elk Public House!

Kirk had a Reuben and the gumbo.  The sauerkraut is made fresh in the restaurant.

Cathy had a chicken Caesar.  Great dressing!

We did wonder what message they were sending us.  WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!?!!?

Kirk got to work going through a free alternative paper, one of our go-to guides to finding local fun!

We had to rush back from lunch so we had time to get ready for our next activity, and the one that brought us out here- Robert and Sarah's wedding!
...to be continued!
